Leandrea and Stephen had to move their wedding around because of COVID 19, but that didn’t slow them down at all for their big day. It was so much fun spending time with them, their families, and friends, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. I asked Leandrea and Stephen to fill us in on all the details of their story and their wedding.
When did you get married?
March 19, 2020
How did you meet?
We actually met through Christian Mingle!
How long have you and your spouse been together?
We’ve now been married for 4 years and met 5 years ago!
Who popped the question and how?
Stephen planned a fishing day up on Pike’s Peak at the reservoir. When we got there they had drained the reservoir for the first time in 100 years…so we moved to the Catamounts (another lake nearby). There is poor service so he was trying to use the forest rangers phone to be able to tell my sister (who was coming to take pictures that the location moved). By the time we got to the lake, a storm was moving over the mountain. I was worried about the storm so I didn’t even really fish. Stephen was waiting for my sister to get there. When she finally did, I was focused on people coming off the lake because of the storm and didn’t even realize that Stephen had gotten down on one knee. He told me I might want to stand up for this, and that’s when I realized he had a ring and was asking me to marry him! As soon as I said yes, lightning struck on the other side of the lake, so we quickly wrapped up and went to our cars!

What was the best part of your wedding day?
Getting married/saying our vows…and actually going through with the wedding due to it being the first week of COVID. There were moments we didn’t know if we would get to even have our wedding which was moved forward 3 days and none of our guests except close family got to be there!

If you could provide a tip to another couple planning their wedding, what would it be?
Don’t stress about the little things, enjoy the process, but enjoy every minute of your actual wedding! It’s the beginning of a lifetime!
Where did you say YES to the dress, and what designer did you wear?
A small privately owned shop in Denver…and I have no clue!

Where did your jewelry and accessories come from?
Amazon😂
Where did you order your favors, party gifts, etc. from?
Etsy, and a bulk order for our sunglasses from a random website.
When it came to your venue selection, why did you choose to get married at Spring Lake Events?
It was beautiful, relatively cost effective, and they worked with us to provide things like centerpieces.
